I am part of the working poor. I am one of the millions excluded from Medicaid because I make “too much” money.
Today I paid $1,138.57 for my medication. Anthem (my private insurance through my employer) was kind enough to pay $10.
I don’t have a grand just laying around. I was supposed to start this medicine a year ago. I delayed while I saved money. In the year I waited, my liver function has drastically declined. I have an abdominal CT scheduled on Wednesday (which will cost another $544 out of pocket).
We need Medicaid for all.
